I'M COMING BACK:)

Hi you all!

In a couple of days, it will be over 8 months here in Costa Rica. Still so unbelievable to me. When I look back to all that has happened over these past months, it feels like a long time but if I think how the end of the year is just around the corner, I cannot believe 2019 is almost over!

Before I came to Costa Rica, I had plans to go to Brazil but I could not be away from my family and friends during the holiday season! So I'm coming back to Japan next week! :)))

I really hope to be able to take some time and debrief these past months so I can process, readjust, grow from my time here in CR!

Last Tuesday was my last day with my two ESL students. Although the girl was not able to pass her exams (the results were unfortunate but thank you for your prayers btw!), I hope that they both will continue to eagerly pursue their education! I gave them a present, a back to school kit that included the basics a student might need with the hopes that they may keep studying and learning!

And on Thursday, the teachers and kids from the after school program threw me a farewell party! We ate a lot of snacks and played many games, we had a wonderful time together! I was very sad to leave them but so thankful to have met each one of these children. These kids were the ones I spent the most time with so I got very emotional when we had to say goodbye! This is always the hard part.
The kids may grow to forget those who were once part of their lives, but the impact of those people helps their development and shapes them into who they will become when they grow.

Reminiscing on this past few months, my heart is filled with gratitude. Thank you so much for your support and prayers. Knowing that there are people lifting me up in prayers is so encouraging. I hope that through the things I've shared with you, that God revealed something to you, encouraged you in some way, and most importantly, served as a testimony to who our God is. :)

Thank you for everything.
